Khan you dig it?

Another Bonanza find: three vintage Eberhard Faber Mongol No. 2 pencils.

Not sure what era they are from. I’m a little bummed they don’t have the “woodclinched” designation. Nonetheless, be on a lookout for a throwback review of ol’ 482 sometime in the future!

I read in an article that the Mongol name came from John Eberhard Faber’s favorite soup: Puree Mongole.

Also, they should say woodclinched, and they would if, when manufactured, the workers used the stamp properly. I have two boxes of them and they are “assembled in Mexico.” It might say that on the other side of the box. The imprint that says “woodclinched” is either not there at all, or almost-but-not-quite there on all twenty four of mine! It’s quite amazing, really.
